I just finished a really great book ! A Trail of Pearls by D.M. George. This is the first book by this author but I think we will be seeing more from her.  This is a fun book with a creative story that also includes a little mythology. I wanted to read this book because it is set on The Amalfi Coast which is one of my most favorite places. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. This is a story about a middle aged woman (like me) who has been dumped by her husband and feels all the slings and arrows of “old age” (cellulite, wrinkles, sagging).  But then she meets a beautiful mermaid (yes I said mermaid) who helps her appreciate what she has to offer. 

This could have been just a little chick lit story with a happy ending, but it actually offers so much more because the characters are so well developed, the descriptions of Italy transport you to the locations and then the mythology all builds up to a nice crescendo. 

Add this one to your Want to Read list as it will not be released until February 28, 2021 (I received an advance review copy for free from Book Sirens)
